<span>Juria Toramae (Thailand/Singapore) is a visual artist. Having had an itinerant childhood, she is interested in place attachment and displacement. Her practice draws on historical and field research and reflects on human relationship with nature. Her work has been presented at the Singapore Art Museum at 8Q, the Singapore International Photography Festival, The Photobook Exhibition for Athens Photo Festival; the Obscura Festival of Photography, Penang; the Chiang Mai University Art Center; and The Substation, Singapore.</span>

<span>Clarissa Ai Ling Lee is currently a research fellow at the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development at Sunway University in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and a lecturer at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She received her PhD in 2014 from the Program in Literature at Duke University, an MA in English from the University of Malaya in 2006 and a BSc in physics from the University of Malaya in 2002. Previous to working in academia, she has worked in publishing, as a copywriter and non-academic researcher at think tanks and a market consultancy. Her involvement in academia stems from a passion in the intellectual development of the communities she belongs to, both in Malaysia and elsewhere.</span>

<span>Eleena Jamil trained at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. She continued working in the UK before joining the architecture faculty at the Welsh School as a teaching assistant while completing her MPhil and Ph.D. postgraduate research. Jamil set up her eponymous studio in Kuala Lumpur in 2005 and it has since been growing steadily with an expanding portfolio of work. Working within the context of Southeast Asia, her work has been founded on research into specific social and climatic imperatives of each project brief within a broader cultural framework. Projects developed within the studio have been widely published in the international press and most recently Eleena Jamil Architects has been shortlisted for Dezeen Architect of the Year 2018.</span>

<span>Nursyazwani Jamaludin (Singapore/United States) is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been working with Rohingya refugees in Malaysia for a few years now where her research revolves around the notions of legibility, political subjectivity, migration, and borders. She was formerly the Research Coordinator of Advocates for Refugees–Singapore where she coordinated research efforts to advocate for the softening of Singapore’s stance toward refugees and asylum-seekers. Wani also volunteers her time with Geutanyoe-Foundation to support educational, research and livelihood programmes for refugees in Malaysia. Currently, she’s working on a project in collaboration with a Rohingya youth in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, together with Geutanyoe Foundation to centre the voices of Rohingya refugees in their narratives.</span>

<p>Roopesh Sitharan (b. 1979) is an educator, researcher, curator, and an artist. His area of specialization is Malaysian contemporary art, New Media cultures, and curatorial practice. He often examines the boundaries of meaning and value in the production and interpretation of art and new media practice. Sitharan has been actively involved in several national and international projects and showcases such as APICTA, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia; Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju, South Korea; ISEA 2009, Singapore; and Siggraph 2005, California, USA. His writings have been published in several local and international journals and magazines such as Learnardo Electronic Almanac (LEA), “CTRL+P” Contemporary Art Journal from Philippines, Dokumenta 12, “Sentap” magazine, and many others.</p>

<strong>Hoo Fan Chon</strong><span> (b. 1982, Selangor) is an artist and curator currently residing in George Town, Penang. He is a co-founder and a member of the Run Amok Gallery art collective. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Photography from the London College of Communication in 2010 and has since exhibited locally and internationally. He was selected as one of the participants for the Japan Foundation Asia Center Curators’ Workshop in 2015-2017 and participated in the No Man’s Land Residency by the Nusantara Archive in Taiwan from 2017-2018. In 2019, he was selected for the Makassar Biennale and in 2022, he will be pursuing a residency with the SEA AiR Studio Residences for Southeast Asian Artists, organised by NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore and the European Union, in Helsinki, Finland. His last solo exhibition was Biro Kaji Visual George Town at Narrow Marrow, Penang.</span>

Karen Shepherd (Malaysia) is currently the Strategic Director for UCCN Kuching Creative City and the focal point for Kuching as a “City of Gastronomy” under UNESCO. A writer and content creator living and working full-time out of Sarawak, one of the two Borneo states of Malaysia, she was instrumental in crafting the application for designation in the network, building on her varied experience constructing narrative across a range of media. She is an active player in the creative life of the city in various events and programmes, including as Content Director for the Rainforest World Music Festival. Through her own website, www.ceravasarawak.com, which won Best Personal Website at the Malaysian Website Awards in 2019, she tells stories about Sarawak and its unique culture. Karen holds an LLB<br />in Laws from King’s College, University of London and a Master’s in Communication and Culture from the London College of Fashion.

Raine Melissa Riman (Malaysia) is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of ARC Creators, and a doctoral candidate in Media Anthropology at Swinburne University of Technology. She is the co-curator of the E.A.T. Borneo Conference and the media strategist for What About Kuching Festival. In 2019, she co-organised the first Borneo Coffee Symposium and co-founded the Sarawak Coffee Culture Network in Malaysia. She was invited to speak at the British Library’s ‘Food Season’ in 2021, where she spoke about the role of indigenous women in the coffee industry. She is now researching the media politics of food culture and planning the next “EAT:Fest 23” with<br />partner and co-curator Ronald Lim, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ARC.

Dr. Franca Cole (UK/Malaysia) is a conservator and archaeologist, as well as a material culture researcher and collections expert. Her BSc in Archaeological Conservation at UCL’s Institute of Archaeology started a freelance career<br />as an archaeological conservator in Greece, Turkey, Libya, Lebanon, Egypt, Norway, Peru, Chile, UAE, Malaysia, India, Qatar and Syria. Her MPhil and PhD studies at the University<br />of Cambridge (2007-2011), used the Sarawak Museum Harrisson Archives to investigate the role of indigenous ceramics in mortuary practices at Sarawak’s Niah Caves. Franca was ERC Post-Doctoral fellow in trans-Saharan trade<br />at University of Leicester before gaining a lectureship in Conservation Studies at UCL Qatar and returning to Sarawak Museum as Research Fellow in 2017. She is currently Consultant in Conservation and Archaeology to Sarawak<br />Museum, and Lecturer in Collections, Care and Management; and Research Methods and Academic Skills for NTU ADM MA in Museum Studies and Curatorial Practice.
