The Asian Film Archive was founded in 2005 with the mission to preserve and share the film heritage of Asia.<br /><br /><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Punggok Rindukan Bulan </span></em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">(</span><em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">This Longing, </span></em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">2008), Directed by Azharr Rudin</span><em></em><br />12.30pm - 2.30 pm|122 min|Malaysia|Malay with English subtitles<br /><br /><em>Punggok Rindukan Bulan</em>, directly translated from Malay as "the owl misses the moon", is a reflection on longing. Set in the border town of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the film focuses on a teenage boy and his father, who are faced with the sudden absence of a key female figure in their life.<br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><em>Return to Burma</em> (2011), Directed by Midi Z</span><br />7.30 pm - 9.00 pm|84 mins|Myanmar/Taiwanz|Mandarin/Burmese with English subtitles<br /><br />The film focuses on the story of a Burmese labourer who has worked on construction in Taipei for 10 years. Changes in Myanmar prompt him to return with the ashes of his friend and co-worker who died in Taipei. Back in his home village he feels like a stranger in a foreign land with family, friends and neighbours living in poverty.
