<span class="s1">Kelvin Wu</span><span> (Hong Kong) is a member of v-artivist, a Hong Kong based art group “participating in public life through art and video”. The group believes that ‘art is the creative expression of the relationship between individual and collective’, and is thus devoted to “bring art back to the people and let people return to art”. The productions of v-artivist cover various social issues concerning the lives of the grassroots. Most of their film-length productions are continuous participatory documentaries, including </span><i>people in deep distress</i><span> (2013), </span><i>raging land 3 </i><span>film series (2010-2012)</span><i>,</i><span> </span><i>walk on! shung ning road</i><span> (2011), and </span><i>where the yellow banner flies </i><span>(2006). The essay-film trilogy </span><i>exodus of nowhere</i><span> is their response to the growing ethnic tension in contemporary Hong Kong. Other than filmmaking, v-artivist is also actively engaged in media literary movement to empower the grassroots' continuous and autonomous engagement with art.</span>

<span>For more than a decade, </span>Damien Curtis <span>(Venezuela/Australia) has worked on the interface between environmental conservation and indigenous rights, both on the ground and with larger organisations such as UNESCO and The Gaia Foundation. He has worked with indigenous groups in the Amazon, the Guiana Shield and various parts of Africa, to help them assert their land and cultural rights. In 2007 and 2008, as Green Man Arts, Damien was invited to curate and produce the Green Man Stage, which showcased music from around the world combined with inspirational speakers on protecting and celebrating the earth’s cultural and biological diversity. In 2009, he moved to Australia, where he continues to be deeply committed to inspiring social change with respect to indigenous rights and environmental protection.</span>

Sinem Saban’s <span>(Australia) unyielding interest in traditional Aboriginal culture led her to N E Arnhem Land where she was adopted into her Yolngu family at Yirrkala, who have been a strong part of her life. In 2003, she co-wrote, directed, produced and edited the first feature length film to be made in an Australian school. In 2004, she was invited to join musician Michael Franti on a journey to the Middle East to film and document the human cost of war for his film </span><em>I Know I’m Not Alone </em><span>(2005). Her experience in Baghdad, Palestine, and Israel reinforced her passion for social justice. Upon returning to Australia, she made the decision to return to N E Arnhem Land, to teach in community schools and follow her passion for advocating indigenous rights.</span>

<strong>Nirwan Ahmad Arsuka </strong><span>(Indonesia) completed his formal education in Nuclear Engineering, Gadjah Mada State University. He has worked as a guest editor for Kompas Daily, a member of the Curator Board of Bentara Budaya Jakarta, and as Director of the Freedom Institute. His writings have appeared in the Inter-Asian Cultural Studies and International Journal of Asian Studies. His publications include </span><em>Two Essays </em><span>(Trilingual edition: Indonesian, English, German. 2016), </span><em>Percakapan dengan Semesta (A Conversation with the Universe) </em><span>(2017), and </span><em>Semesta Manusia (This Universe of Mankind) </em><span>(2018). <span>Raeesah Khan (Singapore), Founder and CEO, Reyna Movement, is an activist, humanitarian, women’s rights advocate and a young mother. In 2016, she founded the Reyna Movement, an organisation that aims to empower women through upskilling programmes and community engagement. The Reyna Movement also seeks to raise awareness on issues and struggles faced by women, and get the public involved in helping them cope with their struggles. <span>Nursyazwani Jamaludin (Singapore/United States) is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. She has been working with Rohingya refugees in Malaysia for a few years now where her research revolves around the notions of legibility, political subjectivity, migration, and borders. She was formerly the Research Coordinator of Advocates for Refugees–Singapore where she coordinated research efforts to advocate for the softening of Singapore’s stance toward refugees and asylum-seekers. Wani also volunteers her time with Geutanyoe-Foundation to support educational, research and livelihood programmes for refugees in Malaysia. Currently, she’s working on a project in collaboration with a Rohingya youth in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, together with Geutanyoe Foundation to centre the voices of Rohingya refugees in their narratives.</span>

<span>Mumtaz Khan Chopan (Indonesia) is an artist whose painting and photography practice is strongly informed by his personal experiences. In 2013, Mumtaz was forced to flee his home country of Afghanistan due to war and discrimination. He has been living in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, ever since. He co-initiated the Publishing Solidarity platform (together with Anang Saptoto, Alec Steadman, and Sanne Oorthuizen), developing a children’s colouring book to share the situation of refugees in Indonesia and to raise funds to support one particular refugee community in Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. In collaboration with Bodies of Power / Power for Bodies, Mumtaz is currently developing a podcast series about refugees in Indonesia, including personal stories and research into the legal and structural frameworks that dictate their lives. </span>
