Jeroen de Rijke and Willem de Rooij were a collaborative artist duo creating video installations, performances, TV programmes and 16mm film shorts. They met while attending the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and worked together from 1994 until de Rijke’s passing in 2006. They chose film as a medium to engage their audience for a longer period and with greater intensity. An efficient use of the inherent time and light qualities of the film medium in their static camera work gives their subjects an almost meditational quality. Their work has been shown worldwide, most notably at the 2005 Venice Biennale. They were also nominated for the 2005 Hugo Boss Prize.

Long-form biography for the Contributor (no character count). A short-form biography (no more than 240 characters) should be added to the Contributor's Description
Ming Wong is a Singapore-born, Berlin based artist who builds layers of cinematic language, social structure, identity, and introspection through re-telling world cinema and popular culture in videos, installations, and performances. He often “mis-casts” himself in multiple roles in a foreign language, interconnecting concepts of gender, representation, culture, and identity. Wong represented Singapore at the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009). He has had solo exhibitions at leading institutions worldwide and has participated in international biennials, including Performa, New York; Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane; and Sydney Biennale, among others.

Pratchaya Phinthong (b. 1974, Thailand) creates situations as an invitation made to the visitor to share an experience with him. His projects (without any specific or pre-defined form) suggest a crack in which the spectators are invited to fill the gaps. He builds a set, a fiction, or a process where he can test our perceptions. He proposes to his audience a story with multiple paths. A trip down memory lane combined with subjective perceptions. His projects are often constructed in a dialogue between the artist and the others, making the artist‚ movement glide towards the social field. Beyond any artistic or formal experience, the artist is looking to find his place and his identity playing on the economic representations and cultural existences. The ‚Äògallery‚ space becomes a free area. Therefore, Phinthong works in a dynamic area in between different realities underlining the space and distance that separates them: two geographical points, two societies, two economic systems.

Phinthong was Artist-in-Residence at NTU CCA Singapore between October and December 2014. As part of his residency, Phinthong explored the idea of airspace as monitored and ambiguous, researching into the histories and negotiations of airspace between Singapore and its neighbours, with particular attention given to Thailand.

Through photography and installation, Ang Song Nian (b. 1983, Singapore) scrutinises traces of human presence in the landscape. Intrigued by the power of the photographic image to convey complex and layered narratives, he favours a microscopic approach that unleashes the imperceptible and ideological potential embedded in small details. His most recent solo exhibitions are As They Grow Older and Wiser, Objectifs, and Hanging Heavy On My Eyes, DECK, both Singapore (2017). He has participated in group exhibitions at Bangkok University Gallery, Thailand (2016) and Photo España Festival, Spain (2012) amongs others. Ang is currently lecturer in Photography at the School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Biographical Text
Long-form biography for the Contributor (no character count). A short-form biography (no more than 240 characters) should be added to the Contributor's Description
Luke Willis Thompson’s (b. 1988, New Zealand) objects are typically both curios drawn from historical blind-spots and markers of, or stand-ins for, very particular personal lived experience. Thompson’s recent projects have focused on politics around the circulation and repatriation of artefacts, and the class-bound art world’s mode of distribution.

Thompson holds an MFA (2010) and a BFA (2009) from the ELAM School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. Selected exhibitions include: Surround Audience, the New Museum Triennial (2015); Foreign Exchange (or the stories you wouldn’t tell a stranger), Weltkulturen Museum, Frankfurt, Germany (2014); The 5th Auckland Triennial, Auckland Art Gallery, New Zealand (2013). Thompson won the acclaimed Auckland Art Gallery’s Walters Prize in 2014.
