NTU CCA Singapore is pleased to host a presentation of the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) by Yoshi Fajar Kresno Murti. Established in 2007 in Yogyakarta, IVAA came together as an ambitious initiative through individual and community efforts. While collecting and documenting are inherent activities that punctuate the life of an archive, the attempts of sharing knowledge and providing access are essential in maintaining an archive as a public resource and contributing to the continuous process of writing and understanding history. In his talk, Yoshi will address specifically those activities undertaken by IVAA in making an archive public such as digitalising content and giving access on-line, creating stronger connections with different communities through workshops and continuously opening up the content of the archive to the questions and urgencies of the present time.
