Jasper is interested in documenting people and spaces and often includes a personal social commentary between the layers of aesthetics. In recent years, he started to explore the play between still and moving images, using both photography and video to convey his message. Yu completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Photography & Digital Imaging (2012) and Master of Arts (2020) in Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design & Media. His recent exhibitions in Singapore include Young Talent Program at the Affordable Art Fair, Unnecessarily Well Made at Vue Privee Gallery, and A Reflective Dialogue at 2902 Gallery.
