In this artist-led session, participants will imagine themselves as archaeologists from the future. Artist-in-Residence Fazleen Karlan will guide you on a tour to discover what kind of objects are embedded in the city’s soil and understand them from a different perspective. In the first part of the workshop, participants will explore the area in the vicinity of NTU CCA Singapore at Gillman Barracks to seek out objects that have been discarded or left behind, whether accidentally or intentionally. In the second part, participants will gain hands-on experience of archaeological techniques used to process and document artefacts. Through this workshop, participants will develop an appreciation of how artefact analysis can reveal several aspects of human activities and how “ordinary relics” provide information about material forms and social behaviours of 21st century’s urban societies.

· This programme is ideal for adults.
· This programme is free admission, but will require a $10 deposit to secure a spot. The deposit will be refunded upon attendance.

· If, after booking, you are unable to attend, you are welcome to nominate someone else to attend in your place. All substitution requests must be received by Friday, 22 July, 13:00pm.
· The deposit will not be refunded due to failure to attend or failure to provide the 3 days notice.
