NG MEI JIA (Singapore) is a research assistant at the School of Art, Design, and Media, Nanyang Technological University (NTU ADM), managing the research projects CLIMATE CRISIS AND CULTURAL LOSS (2021–2024), ENVIRONMENTALLY-ENGAGED ARTISTIC PRACTICES IN SOUTH, SOUTHEAST ASIA AND THE PACIFIC (2021–2024), and UNDERSTANDING
SOUTHEAST ASIA AS A ‘GEOCULTURAL’ FORMATION (2021–2023). Her research interests lie in the nexus between cultural practices, spirituality, religion(s), and their entanglements with the environment. With field research as a primary methodology, she explores how everyday lived experience can speak to larger environmental concepts. Mei Jia holds a BA (Hons) in Arts Management from LASALLE College of the Arts and MA in Southeast Asian Studies from the National University of Singapore.
