Biographical Text
Wu Jun Han (Singapore) creates and performs in the audio-visual, and has a background in video art. Through an interdisciplinary approach to performance, he explores the visceral, materiality, vernacular prractices, and the future. For Asian Film Archive's State of Motion 2018, he presented a sound work in response to Shaw Brothers films from the 1950s - 1970s Singapore. In 2017, he presented Smokescreen at ArtScience Museum, in collaboration with George Chua. He participated in the group show Fantasy Islands (2017) at Objectifs with a sound work featuring cassette tape loops and field recordings. He was an artist-in-residence at Pulau Ubin, organised by The Artists Village, where he installed a makeshift photography lab (2012).
His current practice primarily consists of fields such as VJ-ing, installation, audio/visual improvisation and various others.
