As a life science graduate from NUS, Yong Jen is a research assistant working with Black Soldier Flies (Hermetia illucens) and delving into a sustainable future where nutrients from food waste will be recycled.
Yong Jen is also as a member of the Herpetological Society of Singapore and is very fascinated by snakes. His favourite genus of animal is the Draco and he can be found staring at trees along science. Yong Jen is also an avid nature guide, bringing members of the public to nature areas to introduce them to the local flora and fauna. He is keen on learning fascinating new information every day and appreciates a good pun at any time of the day.
