In this episode of On AiR, Artist-in-Residence Yanyun Chen shares about the two main strands of her art practice, the visuals of botanicals and intergenerational conflicts and trauma, and how the two inform and build upon each other. During the residency, Yanyun will be exploring Singaporean personal and communal childhood histories of discipline and punishment. Through fieldwork, literary investigations, and interviews, the artist intends to uncover the heterogenous ways these personal stories of pain and violence are remembered and interpreted through time.
